At the Phillips Center

Also includes: Squitieri Studio Theatre, Fackler Foyers, and UpStage events

Parking

ADA-accessible parking is available in the parking garage at the UF Cultural Plaza. You will find accessible parking spaces on all four floors along the west end inside the garage (the side nearest to the Phillips Center and the Museums). The second, third, and fourth levels are accessible by elevator. The parking garage is approximately 200 to 300 feet from the Phillips Center lobby doors. The traffic circle directly in front of the building is open for most events and patrons can use it for pick-up and drop-off. The parking map on the Contact Us page has further details.

Wheelchair Availability

Two wheelchairs are available for patrons needing assistance going from the front entrance to their seat. Please check in with the head usher or the office assistant in the reception office in the lobby. Wheelchair use is free. Wheelchairs may not be used for an entire performance.

Accessible Seating

In the Phillips Center:

Wheelchair and companion seating are available on the Orchestra and Mezzanine levels of the Phillips Center. If possible, please request wheelchair seating at time of ticket purchase.

The Phillips Center Orchestra and Pit sections are directly accessible without stairs. The Mezzanine, Balcony, and Boxes sections are accessible via elevator (info below). There are 3 low-profile steps to reach the Upper Boxes and Lower Boxes sections. Please be aware, most of the seats in the Mezzanine and Balcony are only accessible via stairs, although a few fully accessible seats are available in the last row of the Mezzanine. Contact the box office if you have any additional questions about accessibility.

In the Squitieri Studio Theatre:

This is a small “black box” style theatre and fully accessible wheelchair seating is somewhat limited due to the smaller capacity of the venue. For most events, the first and second row are both accessible without stairs or are semi-accessible (possibly with one step up). Please note that the theatre does not have the same seating arrangement for all events, so we recommend contacting the Box Office by phone (352-392-2787) before purchasing your tickets to learn more about the accessible seating arrangement for a specific event.

For UpStage Performances:

Seating for UpStage performances is located on the main stage of the Phillips Center. All guests enter via the main Phillips Center lobby and make their way down the aisles of the Orchestra seating area to the front of the hall. From that point, there are 5-6 steps to get up onto the stage level.

If you have limited mobility or use a walker, rollator, or wheelchair, a lift is available to bring you onto the stage. Notify an usher that you would like rollator or wheelchair access and they will direct you and your companions where to go. After you enter the building, we suggest you use the doors on the left side of the lobby to enter the main hall. Make your way down the slight incline of the orchestra section aisle to the front of the hall. Once there, an usher can guide you directly to the lift and our helpful technical staff will operate the lift for you.

We also recommend contacting the box office when making your seat selection to ensure you have optimum access to the concessions once you’re on the stage.

Elevator

An elevator to access the Mezzanine and Balcony sections is located in the back corner of the lobby beyond the concession stand, which is to the left after you enter the Phillips Center lobby’s main entrance.

Restrooms

Restrooms in the upper and lower lobbies of the Phillips Center all have accessible facilities.

Audio Aids

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) are available to patrons at the Phillips Center. Please request an ALD at the reception office in the lobby. We recommend that patrons who use hearing aids with variable settings or options arrive early to allow you time to optimize your settings and/or to familiarize yourself with the assistive devices we provide. The Phillips Center’s ALDs support use of either headphones or a LOOP enabled neck-loop; either option is provided as needed with the ALD receiver. UFPA events held on the Main Stage and/or UpStage also provide an Auracast broadcast that can be accessed by Auracast-compatible hearing aids, headphones, and ear buds. The broadcast to join is labeled “UFPA Main Stage.”

At the University Auditorium

Parking

ADA-accessible parking is available in many parking areas in the vicinity of the Auditorium. The closest accessible parking area is approximately 1000 feet from the Auditorium entrance. Please be aware, all parking areas near the UA are restricted on weekdays (until 4:30 or 5:30pm) and drop-off and pick-up areas are limited based on campus access rules and traffic patterns. Please plan accordingly. Review the parking map under University Auditorium on the Contact Us page or UF Transportation and Parking (TAPS) for additional information, or contact UF TAPS at 352-392-7275.

Accessible Seating

Wheelchair and companion seating are available on the main floor in the back of University Auditorium. If possible, please request wheelchair seating at time of ticket purchase. All seating areas are accessed from the second and third floors, which are accessible via elevator (info below). Most of the Orchestra seating area does not require the use of stairs; however, please be aware, the balcony sections all require at least one step up or down to access the seating. Contact the box office if you have any additional questions about accessibility.

Elevator

The University Auditorium elevator is located across from the main staircase in the lobby.

Restrooms

Restrooms in the lower lobby of University Auditorium have accessible facilities available.

Audio aids

Assistive Listening Devices (ALD) are available to patrons at the University Auditorium. Please request an ALD at the reception office in the lobby.
