Master Classes
Arranged in advance and pending artist availability, world-renowned artists provide educational outreach to Alachua County schoolchildren and University of Florida and Santa Fe students in their related arts field.
Past activities include:
- Philip Glass: Discussion with UF music composition and architecture students on the structure of his compositions
- Wynton Marsalis: Lecture demonstration on the “Soul of Music,” open to all UF students
- Aquila Theatre Company: Master class on physical theatre with movement class
- Tap Dogs: Intensive master class with mid- and advanced-level tap students on their unique style of dance and routines
- Miami City Ballet: Company class with advanced ballet students before their company rehearsal and performance
- David Parsons: The choreographer and former Paul Taylor dancer worked with the UF women’s gymnastics team on movement and transitions.
These activities are held at the theatre, on the university campus and around the community.
