Volunteer ushers are the University of Florida Performing Arts program’s single most direct link to our patrons. Ushering is a great way to support the Phillips Center as well as University Auditorium and represent the University of Florida at the same time.
YOUR MISSION – YOU REPRESENT US
We consider our ushers to be part of our public relations team. It is the smiling faces of our volunteers that greet our patrons on the front line of each performance, and it is imperative that our volunteers remain focused on first-class customer service. We work hard to take care of our volunteers, keeping them well informed and well trained. And in exchange, we ask that our volunteers give their very best to UFPA and our patrons.
THE PERKS
Be an integral part of some of the most extraordinary performances in North Central Florida. Whether you are ticket taking, assisting special needs patrons, advising patrons of the late seating policy, or preparing the house for the next event, your role is vital to a successful show. As such, we implemented a Volunteer Recognition Program in honor of this role. Volunteer ushers earn points for each event worked. Once a volunteer has accumulated 15 points, he or she is eligible for a free voucher ticket to see a UFPA-presented show. The points program is our opportunity to recognize our volunteers for all of their hard work and to welcome them as patrons of the arts!
