Horizon Society

The Horizon Society was created to acknowledge donors who have established planned gifts or endowments in support of UF Performing Arts. Horizon Society members receive special recognition, unique benefits, and curated experiences.

CHANGE ONE LIFE, AND YOU WILL CHANGE GENERATIONS

Investing today ensures the arts for tomorrow; endowments and bequests provide a future for University of Florida Performing Arts. These unique, sustaining gifts enable UFPA to continue to bring artists from around the globe to our community and make this a culturally vibrant place to live and visit.

PROGRAMS YOUR GIFT COULD SUPPORT

PHILLIPS CENTER BUILDING RENOVATION
In 2021, UFPA completed a Feasibility Study that identified ways in which we can reimagine the experience at the Phillips Center. Opportunities to upgrade the acoustics in the main hall, improve the patron experience as they arrive through the lobby, and update the backstage spaces for performers.

DRIVEWAY THEATRE PROJECT
The Driveway Theatre Project is an effort that meets people where they are both geographically and socially, providing performances at no cost and removing many of the boundaries that hinder folks from attending performances inside our venues.

PROGRAMMING
Create your own fund to support a certain type of performance. Ensure that UFPA can continue to present orchestras, UpStage performances, young artists, or modern dance for future generations.

EDUCATION PROGRAMS
You can also direct a general contribution to one of UFPA’s Education programs. We believe the arts have no boundaries. Through programs like the Partners Program and the Rural Arts Initiative, you can share the arts with underserved populations or build a new generation of artists.

UFPA GENERAL FUND
Used for nearly any expense within UFPA. Thousands of students and kids begin their artistic journey with UFPA. Help share your love of the arts with others today. Your contribution to our general operating fund helps support everything UFPA does to build the artists of tomorrow.

WAYS TO MAKE A GIFT

BEQUEST
Include a gift to UFPA in your will or living trust. You can designate a specific amount, a particular asset, or a percentage of your estate. A bequest is flexible and allows you to retain control of your assets during your lifetime. Sample bequest language is available upon request.

LIFE INSURANCE
A life insurance policy can be a simple and powerful way to support UFPA. Naming us as a revocable primary beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy is as simple as updating your beneficiary designation form. You can also make an irrevocable gift of a new or existing policy by naming us as both owner and beneficiary of the policy, and you may qualify for current and future income tax deductions.

RETIREMENT PLAN ASSETS
Name us as a beneficiary of your IRA or other qualified retirement plan by updating your beneficiary designation form through your plan administrator. You can designate us as the primary beneficiary for a percentage or specific amount. You may reduce taxes and leave more for both family members and UFPA by using retirement assets to make a charitable gift.

LIFE INCOME GIFTS
Life income gifts, including Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts, allow you to support UFPA while receiving annual payments. You will be eligible for an income tax deduction, and you can bypass capital gains taxes by funding a life income gift with appreciated assets.

RETAINED LIFE ESTATE
Transfer your personal residence to us while retaining the right to live in it or use it for the rest of your life. Even though we will not take possession of the residence until after your lifetime, you will qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction for a portion of the home’s value.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU
