PRELUDE TO GLORY by Russell Wilson is a musical celebration of the American Revolution inspired by Ron Carter’s epic eight-volume historical-fiction account of the Revolutionary War, “Prelude to Glory”. Arrangements of original Revolutionary period songs coupled with original music like the prayer at Valley Forge with George Washington and the men of the chorus are fun-filled and moving. The finale a new majestic hymn that closes the piece “where in America we will dream!” The musical style is very Broadway-esque, like ‘Les Mis’ or ‘Phantom of the Opera’. Celebrate 250 years of the world’s greatest experiment in freedom.
