LEGENDS OF THE EMERALD ISLE
Rock and Roll was cool in the 1960s. This is the decade that gave us The Beatles, The Who, Van Morrison, and The Rolling Stones. It was also the decade when a group of musicians led by Paddy Moloney went in a different direction and sparked a resurgence in traditional Irish music.
And it doesn’t get more authentically Irish than The Chieftains. Using traditional Irish instrumentation and structure, The Chieftains take you on a journey through rousing jigs, mournful ballads, and everything in between. Throughout their five decades of making music, they have worked with countless traditional artists such as The Dubliners and Moya Brennan, as well as contemporary artists like Pink Martini and Punch Brothers.
