TALENT RUNS IN THE FAMILY
Brazilian-born, Grammy-winning brothers and guitarists Sérgio and Odair Assad join family members Badi and Clarice for an exceptional evening of Brazilian folk music, with original compositions, and a nod to their Lebanese heritage.
While Sérgio and Odair have become international superstars in the world of guitar—working with such renowned artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Romero Lubambo, and Dawn Upshaw—Badi Assad has been lauded for her category-defying work as an extraordinary singer, guitarist, and percussionist. And let’s not forget about Sergio’s daughter, Clarice. A composer, pianist, and singer, she has been performing professionally since the age of seven, with works commissioned by Carnegie Hall, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and the Vail Music Festival. It’s quite rare for one family to be bursting at the seams with such talent and acclaim and even rarer to see them all on one stage.
