Sales Tax Information
Effective July 1, 2009, admission tickets sold by governmental entities (including University of Florida Performing Arts) will no longer be exempt from sales tax. Our industry lobbied hard against this change, but unfortunately the current economic situation prevailed. As a result, we will be required to charge 6.75% sales tax on all tickets sold for UFPA-sponsored events that are purchased after June 30, 2009. Tickets purchased prior to that date will not be affected. Tickets sold for events sponsored by not-for-profit entities (501(c)(3) entities) are not affected and will continue to be sold without sales tax.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
