Did you know…
The co-ed a cappella group No Southern Accent (NSA) formed in 2001 and is an official student organization comprised of UF students with different majors, grade levels and career goals.
NSA is entirely student-run, arranges their music, leads rehearsals, books performances and participates in fundraising events.
The group also competes at the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) — the highest competition for collegiate a cappella groups in the country. In 2009 No Southern Accent was awarded Best Vocal Percussion at the ICCA quarterfinal round in Gainesville.
NSA performed in the University of Florida Gator Growl’s Talent Night 2008, where the group was awarded second place.
NSA does an arrangement of Billy Joel’s The Longest Time with special “Gator” lyrics.
