Craig Martin’s Classic Albums Live brings together highly accomplished musicians to faithfully recreate some of your favorite albums of all-time. The performers do not dress up or act the part of the featured artists. Like a recital, the show is presented just as a symphony orchestra would perform the works of Mozart. The result is amazing.
Legend is a greatest hits collection of Bob Marley and the Wailers songs, released by Island records in 1984. It is the best-selling reggae album of all time, with sales of more than 20 million copies.
In 2003 Legend was ranked number 46 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
In 1962 Bob Marley auditioned for a local music entrepreneur, Leslie Kong. Impressed by the quality of Bob’s vocals, Kong took the young singer into the studio to cut some tracks, the first of which, Judge Not, was released on Beverley’s label. It was Marley’s first record.
In 1978 Bob Marley was invited to the United Nations in New York to receive the organization’s Medal of Peace.
The last Bob Marley and the Wailers tour in 1980 attracted the largest audiences at that time for any musical act in Europe.
