Young Concert Artist: Charlie Albright, Piano

Winner of the prestigious 2010 Gilmore Young Artist Award and the 2009 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, pianist Charlie Albright made his Washington, D.C. and New York recital debuts to critical acclaim. Albright was hailed by The Washington Post as, “among the most gifted musicians of his generation” and praised by The New York Times for his “jaw-dropping technique and virtuosity meshed with a distinctive musicality.” Albright has collaborated four times with cellist Yo-Yo Ma, was the young artist-in-residence on Performance Today last season and his debut CD Vivace was released by CAPC Music in February 2011.
